AST Panel kit

About AST Panel kit

The TRUPCR® AST Panel Kit is a rapid antimicrobial resistance PCR panel designed for multiplex real-time detection of key resistance genes in both clinical samples and cultured isolates. This CE-IVD assay enables simultaneous identification of genetic determinants associated with resistance to Trimethoprim/Sulfamethoxazole, extended-spectrum β-lactams, carbapenems, vancomycin, and methicillin, providing laboratories with a comprehensive and reliable solution for fast antimicrobial susceptibility profiling.

Using highly specific primers and probes, the kit targets clinically relevant resistance markers including dfrA1, dfrA5, sul2, multiple ESBL-associated genes, carbapenemase families (such as blaKPC, blaNDM, blaVIM, blaOXA-48-like, blaIMP), vancomycin resistance genes (vanA and vanB), and methicillin resistance through mecA detection. An integrated internal control monitors sample quality and PCR performance, supporting confident result interpretation.

Optimized for use on widely adopted real-time PCR platforms, the TRUPCR® AST Panel Kit delivers high sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility—helping clinical laboratories accelerate AMR detection and support timely, evidence-based therapeutic decisions.

Specifications of the AST Panel kit

TRUPCR® AST Panel Kit

The TRUPCR® AST Panel Kit offers a comprehensive molecular approach for detecting antimicrobial resistance genes across key antibiotic classes. Through multiplex real-time PCR, the assay enables simultaneous analysis of multiple genetic targets, supporting rapid and accurate characterization of resistance mechanisms in clinical specimens and cultured isolates. The panel covers resistance determinants linked to Trimethoprim/Sulfamethoxazole, extended-spectrum β-lactams, carbapenems, vancomycin, and methicillin, allowing laboratories to assess a broad spectrum of clinically relevant AMR profiles within a single workflow.

Target Gene Coverage

The kit includes primer–probe sets for the detection of genetic markers such as dfrA1, dfrA5, sul2, blaCTX-M groups, blaTEM, blaSHV, blaKPC, blaNDM, blaVIM, blaOXA-48-like, blaIMP, vanA, vanB, and mecA. This selection reflects the most prevalent and clinically significant resistance mechanisms observed in Gram-positive and Gram-negative pathogens. An integrated internal control is included in each reaction, ensuring sample integrity and validating the amplification process.

Kit Composition

Each kit contains ready-to-use qPCR mastermix, five dedicated primer–probe mixes corresponding to the antibiotic groups, and positive and negative controls to support quality assurance. Reagents are optimized for stability and consistent performance, enabling reliable operation across routine and high-throughput testing environments.

Sample and Workflow Compatibility

The assay is validated for use with purified DNA derived from respiratory specimens, rectal swabs, urine, blood culture broth, or bacterial isolates. The workflow integrates seamlessly with standard real-time PCR systems, offering flexible implementation in clinical microbiology and molecular diagnostics laboratories.

Performance Characteristics

The TRUPCR® AST Panel Kit demonstrates high analytical sensitivity, specificity, and reproducibility, supporting confidence in AMR detection across a wide range of sample types and bacterial loads. Its validated internal controls and optimized reaction chemistry reduce the risk of false results and enhance overall assay robustness.
