The Chimerism Multiplex I Kit quantifies molecular chimerism after allogeneic transplantation, which is used to follow the graft and to identify graft-versus-host disease, rejection or relapse at an early stage.
Markers
The kit performs relative quantification of 34 molecular markers, of which 16 are insertion and deletion polymorphisms. The markers SRY and RhD are included as well. Because an informative marker is one that is present in the recipient and absent in the donor, the size of the marker panel determines how often a suitable marker is found: the cumulative informativity of this panel is 96 per cent.
Input and controls
The analysis requires 450 ng of DNA from the recipient and the donor taken before transplantation. Controls are built in to check each PCR run.
