Galaxy Pro
The Galaxy Pro is a fully enclosed system that carries out nucleic acid extraction and real-time PCR on one platform, up to 12 samples per run, with results in 1 to 2 hours. It is an open system, so third-party reagents and a laboratory’s own assays can be run on it. Detection uses 7 optical channels, so several targets can be read in one reaction. The reagents come as a single-use iCassette cartridge with lyophilised reagents, which keeps handling steps and contamination risk down.

This instrument in detail
- Extraction and qPCR in one enclosed instrument
- Up to 12 samples per run, result in 1 to 2 hours
- 7 optical detection channels for multiplex assays
- Open system for third-party reagents and own assays
- Single-use iCassette with lyophilised reagents
- 550 x 480 x 400 mm, 45 kg, 240 V AC
The Galaxy Pro combines nucleic acid purification and real-time PCR in a single enclosed instrument, for laboratories with a mid to high sample volume that want to avoid separate extraction and PCR set-up steps.
Throughput and detection
Up to 12 samples per run, with a result in 1 to 2 hours. Detection uses 7 optical channels, which allows multiplex assays to be read in a single reaction.
Open platform
All Galaxy systems are open platforms, so third-party PCR reagents and a laboratory’s own assays can be run on them. The reagents are supplied in a single-use iCassette cartridge, which holds the extraction and amplification reagents in lyophilised form.
Contamination control
Because extraction and amplification take place inside the closed instrument, the sample is not opened between the two steps. That removes the manual transfer at which cross-contamination and mix-ups usually occur.
Dimensions
550 mm wide, 480 mm deep and 400 mm high, 45 kg, mains supply 240 V AC at 47 to 63 Hz.
- Dimensions: 55 cm (L) x 48 cm (W) x 40 cm (H)
- Weight: 45 kg
- Power: 240VAC: 47~63Hz
