The Plasma 2x (human-tech) DNA Free Set allows plasma to be prepared at a chosen concentration. It contains a two-fold concentrated plasma solution, Plasma 2x (human-tech) DNA Free (SID-0001), and the matching Plasma 2x (human-tech) DNA Free Dilution Buffer (SID-0005).
Composition
The plasma replicates human plasma as it is obtained after a standard blood draw and plasma separation, and contains human proteins at standard plasma concentrations, electrolytes and EDTA, but no DNA. EDTA is the anticoagulant used in blood collection tubes; its concentration follows the guidance of the International Council for Standardization in Haematology (ICSH) and the Clinical and Laboratory Standards Institute (CLSI).
Application
Because the matrix contains no DNA, it can be used as a background for spike-in experiments with cfDNA or ctDNA and as a no template control, at a concentration the laboratory sets itself.
