Chimerism qPCR kit
The Chimerism qPCR kit measures molecular chimerism in the follow-up of transplant patients by real-time PCR. Up to 34 markers can be tested, so a polymorphism can be selected that distinguishes donor from recipient in each individual case. Beta-globin serves both as reference gene and as an additional informative marker, and the detection limit is 0.01 per cent. Validated for peripheral blood and bone marrow. CE marked for in vitro diagnostic use.

This kit in detail
- Up to 34 markers available for case-specific polymorphism selection
- Detection limit 0.01 per cent
- Beta-globin as reference gene and as an additional informative marker
- Positive control plasmid containing the beta-globin and marker sequences
- Validated for peripheral blood and bone marrow
- 25 reactions per target
The Chimerism qPCR kit quantifies molecular chimerism after transplantation, which is used to follow the balance between donor and recipient cells and to detect graft-versus-host disease, rejection or relapse at an early stage. The kit was developed in collaboration with the Carlos Haya Regional Hospital in Málaga, Spain.
Marker selection
Up to 34 distinct markers can be tested, so for each transplant a polymorphism can be chosen that separates donor from recipient. That avoids running a series of separate tests to find an informative marker.
Reference gene
Beta-globin has a dual function: it acts as a positive control for the run and as an additional informative marker. A positive control plasmid containing the beta-globin and marker sequences is supplied.
Sensitivity and samples
The detection limit is 0.01 per cent. The kit is validated for peripheral blood and for bone marrow, and contains reagents for 25 reactions per target.
Quality and regulatory status
The kit is manufactured under ISO 9001. It is CE marked for in vitro diagnostic use.
The kit contents the necessary reagents to perform 25 reactions. The reagents included in the kit are the following:
- X Master Mix: Specific oligonucleotides and labelled probes.
- ß-globine Master Mix: Specific oligonucleotides and labelled probes.
- Positive Control: Plasmid containing ß-globin and X marker sequences.
