Neuro Panel PCR Kit
The TruPCR Neuro Panel detects and differentiates 11 neurotropic viruses in one multiplex real-time PCR run, from cerebrospinal fluid or respiratory material: enterovirus, parechovirus, adenovirus, herpes simplex virus 1 and 2, cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, varicella zoster virus, human herpesvirus 6 and 7, and parvovirus B19. The reactions are distributed over four tubes with three-colour detection per tube, and an endogenous internal control shows whether the sample was adequate and the reaction free of inhibition.

The TruPCR Neuro Panel is used in the work-up of viral meningitis and encephalitis, where the causative agent has to be identified quickly from a small volume of cerebrospinal fluid.
Targets
Enterovirus, human parechovirus, human adenovirus, herpes simplex virus 1 and 2, human cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus, varicella zoster virus, human herpesvirus 6 and 7, and human parvovirus B19. The manufacturer distributes them over four tubes: adenovirus, enterovirus and parechovirus in the first; herpes simplex 1 and 2 with the endogenous internal control in the second; cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus and varicella zoster virus in the third; and the remaining targets in the fourth.
Method
Multiplex real-time PCR with hot-start chemistry and three fluorescence channels per tube. The endogenous internal control is amplified alongside the targets, so a negative result can be distinguished from a failed reaction.
