Description
Yellow Fever virus (YFV) is an RNA virus belonging to the family Flaviviridae. Mild cases display symptoms such as fever, chills, nausea, and muscle aches. More severe cases may also exhibit kidney problems and liver damage. The jaundice seen in patients with liver damage creates a yellowing of the skin, hence the name, ‘Yellow Fever’. It is transmissible via human serum and also mosquitoes, particularly of the Aedes genus.
