CYP2C19 StripAssay

Short description

The Viennalab CYP2C9 PCR Kit is a powerful solution for accurate and efficient genotyping of the CYP2C19 gene, which is crucial for metabolizing a wide range of drugs. It allows for the detection of genetic variants resulting in reduced or increased activity of the cytochrome P450 isoenzyme CYP2C19, enabling tailored drug dosage to avoid adverse events, minimize toxicity, and ensure maximum drug efficacy.

The kit covers the most clinically relevant CYP2C19 alleles, including loss-of-function alleles *2 – *8 and gain-of-function allele *17. With the help of clinical guidelines, you can make informed drug prescribing recommendations and elevate your personalized medicine approach.

Product highlights

  • Patients with CYP2C19 require dosage adjustment
  • CYP2C19 poor metabolizers have reduced effectiveness of  drugs
  • CYP2C19 rapid metabolizers may have drug therapy failures
  • CYP2C19 loss-of-function alleles
  • Reducing the risk of adverse events or therapy failure.

Specifications of the CYP2C19 StripAssay

Introducing the Viennalab CYP2C9 PCR Kit – the ultimate solution for accurate and efficient genotyping of the CYP2C19 gene, which is crucial for metabolizing a wide range of drugs. With this powerful kit, you can easily detect genetic variants resulting in reduced or increased activity of the cytochrome P450 isoenzyme CYP2C19, providing you with invaluable information to tailor drug dosage and minimize the risk of toxicity, adverse drug reactions, or impaired drug efficacy.

By identifying CYP2C19 poor metabolizers, you can ensure appropriate dosage adjustment of drugs that are metabolized by this enzyme, preventing adverse events and ensuring maximum drug efficacy. On the other hand, CYP2C19 rapid metabolizers may require increased dosage to achieve target levels of the drug and avoid failure of therapy.

The Viennalab CYP2C9 PCR Kit covers the most clinically relevant CYP2C19 alleles, including the loss-of-function alleles *2 – *8 and the gain-of-function allele *17. With the help of the clinical guidelines listed at PharmGKB, you can make informed drug prescribing recommendations and ensure the safety and well-being of your patients.

Don’t let CYP2C19 genetic variations compromise your patients’ drug response – invest in the Viennalab CYP2C9 PCR Kit today and take your personalized medicine approach to the next level!

Components of the CYP2C19 StripAssay
  1. DNA Extraction Kit: A kit containing all the reagents necessary for the extraction of genomic DNA from a blood or saliva sample, including DNA extraction buffer, proteinase K, and magnetic beads.
  2. StripAssay: A test strip containing immobilized probes specific for the detection of genetic polymorphisms in the CYP2C19 gene, including alleles *2, *3, *4, *5, *6, *7, *8, *9, *10, and *17.
  3. Conjugate: A solution containing probes labeled with biotin that bind to the immobilized probes on the StripAssay.
  4. Enzyme Conjugate: A solution containing streptavidin conjugated to horseradish peroxidase (HRP) that binds to the biotin-labeled probes on the StripAssay.
  5. Substrate: A solution containing a chromogenic substrate for HRP that produces a color reaction upon cleavage by the enzyme.
  6. Stop Solution: A solution used to stop the enzymatic reaction and stabilize the color reaction.
  7. Control DNA: A synthetic DNA that is added to the sample as an internal control to ensure that the assay is working correctly.
  8. DNase/RNase-free Water: Water that has been treated to remove contaminating DNases and RNases, which can degrade the extracted DNA.

The kit also includes instructions for use, as well as a protocol for the detection of genetic polymorphisms in the CYP2C19 gene using the StripAssay format.
