- Compatible with most commonly used RT-PCR machines
- Specificity of up to 100% and Sensitive down to 10 copies per reaction
Overview
Ebola virus (EBOV) causes the severe and potentially lethal disease Ebola virus disease (EVD), which has a high case-fatality rate and is usually characterised by fever, gastrointestinal signs and multiple organ dysfunction syndrome. Human-to-human transmission of EBOV occurs via direct contact with an infected person or those who die from EVD, with the virus entering the body through broken skin or mucous membranes of the eyes, nose, or mouth.

Quality
All Advanced Molecular Diagnostics products are manufactured in-house under the highest quality standards.
Sensitivity
The Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Ebola virus RT-qPCR Detection Kit is highly sensitive and can detect a minimum of 10 copies per reaction as validated by our in-house methods.
Specificity
The Advanced Molecular Diagnostics Ebola virus RT-qPCR Detection Kit is highly specific for Ebola virus RNA as validated by our in-house methods.
Sample collection
The sample for Ebola virus RT-qPCR detection Kit should be collected via human samples such as the CDC recommended specimen type, which is: a buccal swab specimen, which should be taken as soon after the onset of parotitis as possible. Both dry swabs and swabs placed in viral transport media (VTM) can be used and any other sample types used must be validated in-house prior to use at the risk of false negatives.
