Galaxy Nano

The Galaxy Nano is the smallest instrument in the Galaxy family: 435 x 175 x 285 mm and 9.5 kg. It performs nucleic acid extraction and real-time PCR in one enclosed unit, with 7 optical detection channels and a single-use iCassette carrying a QR code. The manufacturer classes the instrument as an in vitro diagnostic device, class A under IVDR rule 5b. It is operated from a dedicated pad or from a PC, and results are exported as txt, xlsx or pdf.

Product details

This instrument in detail

  • Extraction and qPCR in one unit, 9.5 kg and 435 x 175 x 285 mm
  • 7 optical channels: FAM, HEX, TAMRA, ROX or Texas Red, Cy5, Cy5.5 and AMCA
  • Single-use iCassette with QR code
  • Operated from a dedicated pad or a PC, software version V2.3
  • Export as txt, xlsx or pdf
  • Power 180 VA

The Galaxy Nano brings extraction and real-time PCR together in an instrument of 9.5 kg, which makes it the model in the Galaxy family for a location where bench space or transport weight is the constraint.

Optical channels

Seven channels: FAM at 460/525 nm, HEX at 525/564 nm, TAMRA at 543/584 nm, ROX or Texas Red at 571/624 nm, Cy5 at 624/675 nm, Cy5.5 at 675/710 nm and AMCA at 350/460 nm.

Consumable and software

The reagents are supplied in a single-use iCassette cartridge with a QR code, so the instrument reads which assay is loaded. The system software, version V2.3 on Windows 10 64-bit, is operated from a dedicated pad or from a PC, and exports results as txt, xlsx or pdf.

Applications and format

Real-time PCR analysis, nucleic acid extraction, qualitative analysis of analytes in blood and body fluids, and genetic typing. Dimensions are 435 x 175 x 285 mm, net weight 9.5 kg, power 180 VA. The manufacturer classes the instrument as class A under rule 5b of the IVDR.

  • Dimensions: 43.5cm (L) x 17.5cm (W) x 28.5 cm (H)
  • Weight: 9,5 kg
  • Power: 100-240VAC, 50/60Hz, 180VA
