Respiratory pathogens, including viruses like influenza and bacteria such as Mycoplasma pneumoniae, cause a spectrum of respiratory infections from mild colds to severe pneumonia. For healthcare professionals, rapid and accurate detection of these pathogens is essential for guiding effective treatment and managing patient care.
In today’s healthcare environment, the 13 Respiratory Pathogens Diagnostic Panel is a vital tool for identifying common respiratory viruses and bacteria. This test panel is designed to efficiently and accurately detect 10 viruses—Adenovirus, Coronavirus, Human Rhinovirus, SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A, Influenza B, Human Metapneumovirus, Bocavirus, Parainfluenza Virus, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV)—along with three bacteria: Bordetella Pertussis, Bordetella Parapertussis, and Mycoplasma Pneumoniae. This comprehensive detection capability supports effective treatment management during respiratory outbreaks.
The iCassette uses a magnetic bead transfer structure and process technology, as well as a material distributed mixing device structure. It is compatible with the Galaxy: Lite and Pro. The test can be performed on demand with no minimum batch size requirement, which is advantageous for clinics and hospitals that require rapid results. The fully automated sample magnetic beads extraction to qPCR process provides results within two and a half hours with minimal hands-on time, increasing laboratory efficiency and reducing patient waiting times.
Test principle
The 13 Respiratory Pathogens Detection Kit utilizes PCR-Melting curve analysis technology for pathogen detection. It employs a combination of PCR primers and dual-labeled fluorescent probes specific to each pathogen. Following reverse transcription, PCR amplification, and melting curve analysis, the presence of pathogens is identified by their unique Tm values in the corresponding fluorescence detection channels.
The 13 Respiratory Pathogens Detection Kit is suitable for use with throat swabs. It is stored at 2-8°C and includes internal process control to ensure the accuracy and reliability of each test performed.
This kit is a valuable tool for laboratories and healthcare facilities aiming to quickly and accurately identify a wide spectrum of respiratory pathogens, supporting effective patient care and disease management.
The kit includes tests for SARS-CoV-2, Influenza A, Influenza B, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), Adenovirus, Coronavirus, Human Metapneumovirus, Human Rhinovirus, Parainfluenza, Boca virus, Bordatella parapertusis, Bordatella pertussis, and Mycoplasma pneumoniae.
